Pennsylvania Republican Senate nominee Mehmet Oz.

Dr. Mehmet Oz, the Pennsylvania GOP Senate nominee, misspelled his own town’s name.
The error appeared on Oz’s official declaration of candidacy form.
Oz put down “Huntington Valley,” a town which does not exist.

Republican Pennsylvania Senate nominee Mehmet Oz misspelled the name of his Keystone State residence on an official campaign form.

Oz, the celebrity doctor and Trump-endorsed candidate who had been living in New Jersey in the years before running for office, put down “Huntington Valley” instead of “Huntingdon Valley.” While there’s also a town called Huntingdon in Pennsylvania, Huntington Valley does not exist.

The Oz campaign did not immediately respond to Insider’s request for comment.

Oz’s candidacy stoked controversy early on in the Republican primary after the Philadelphia Inquirer reported that he used his in-laws’ Pennsylvania address to register to vote in the state last year, despite living in New Jersey for several years.

On the campaign’s website, Huntingdon Valley is spelled correctly.

It’s unclear if the Huntingdon Valley address is different from the Bryn Athyn residence an Oz spokesperson referenced in 2021.

Responding to the criticism of Oz being from out of state, spokesperson Erin Perrine said he had been living in Bryn Athyn — a municipality right next to the village of Huntingdon Valley — where his wife’s family has resided for a century.

“Dr. Oz lives in Pennsylvania, votes in Pennsylvania, and has his medical license in Pennsylvania. Dr. Oz grew up in the Greater Philadelphia region, less than 5 miles from the PA border. He went to school in Pennsylvania, met his wife and got married in Pennsylvania, and 2 of his children were born in Pennsylvania. He currently resides in Bryn Athyn, Pennsylvania, where his wife’s family has lived for a hundred years,” Perine said in a statement.
