Pelosi announced she’s rejecting two of McCarthy’s picks for the January 6 committee.
The House speaker said she will not accept his recommendations of Reps. Jim Banks and Jim Jordan.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday announced she’s rejecting two of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s picks for the House select committee to investigate the January 6 Capitol insurrection.
Pelosi said she could not accept McCarthy’s recommendations of GOP Reps. Jim Banks and Jim Jordan.
“With respect for the integrity of the investigation, with an insistence on the truth and with concern about statements made and actions taken by these Members, I must reject the recommendations of Representatives Banks and Jordan to the Select Committee,” Pelosi said in a statement.
“The unprecedented nature of January 6th demands this unprecedented decision,” the House Speaker added.
