February is shaping up to be a great month for credit card offers and new benefits, and if you’re trying to decide on which credit cards are best for you, an elevated welcome bonus can certainly make your decision a bit easier.
Amex continues to lead the pack with more updates to its cards. Last week, the American Express® Gold Card got a makeover, with the addition of up to $120 in Uber Cash credits per calendar year (this is only applicable to U.S. Eats orders and Rides, and the Gold Card needs to be added to the Uber app to receive the Uber Cash benefit) and the return of the popular rose gold card design — and it’s still offering its best-ever bonus of 60,000 points after you spend at least $4,000 in your first 6 months of account opening.
Chase Freedom cardholders got an unexpected little bonus with a promotion to earn 5% back at gas stations in February. This is separate from the rotating 5% quarterly bonus categories on the Chase Freedom Flex℠ and legacy Chase Freedom® (no longer available to new applicants), and activation is required.
There are also updated offers on three Chase cards that earn Avios points (the rewards currency of British Airways, Aer Lingus, and Iberia). The Product Card 5e742724c485402a65114fe2, Product Card 601ad5cf88948700119fddc6, and Product Card 601ad53488948700119fddc2 have new welcome bonuses that include a boost in earning rates in specific categories for a limited time.
Finally — if you’ve put off applying for the elevated bonuses on the Chase Southwest personal cards, today (February 8) is the very last day to take advantage of these record-high deals. One of these bonuses can get you most of the way to earning the Southwest Companion Pass in 2021 and all of 2022.
