‘The Walking Dead’ star Josh McDermitt says The Whisperers should be worried about Negan
Warning: There are spoilers ahead for “The Walking Dead” season 10, episode six, “Bonds.”
Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) tries his hand at getting inducted with the Whisperer gang on Sunday.
When asked who should be more afraid of who moving forward, Josh McDermitt, who plays Eugene on the show, told Insider, “Probably the Whisperers.”
“He could get himself and all the Whisperers killed,” said McDermitt of Negan.
McDermitt said Eugene is scared of the Whisperers. Though he can handle himself, he’s better suited to reaching out to other communities and trying to build more alliances.

Negan tries his luck to fit in with the Whisperers on Sunday’s “The Walking Dead.”
But should the former Savior leader be afraid of the group who wear skin masks? Or should the Whisperers fear Negan?
“Probably the Whisperers,” Josh McDermitt, who plays Eugene on “TWD,” said of who should be more worried of who moving forward. “Just the fact that he is so loud and obnoxious and arrogant.”
Eugene’s very familiar with Negan’s tactics since he served as one of his former lieutenants and bullet makers. On Sunday’s episode, Negan annoys Beta (Ryan Hurst) constantly with his incessent chatter, which puts the Whisperer group in danger. Beta gets so annoyed with Negan that he eventually leaves him for dead.
Unfortunately for Beta, Negan fights his way through a group of the undead to surprise Alpha and prove to Beta that he’s more than just a chatterbox. He’s a formidable foe and claims he wants to join their group.
But Negan’s well aware of how the skin wearers are threatening the communities and it’s tough to imagine he would want to be a part of any group that may want to harm Rick’s daughter, Judith, who he’s become fond of. In the comics, Negan …read more
