Avalanche’s Nathan MacKinnon suffers upper-body injury vs. Predators
Colorado Avalanche star Nathan MacKinnon left Thursday’s game against the Nashville Predators with an upper-body injury and will not return.
Defenceman Nikita Zadorov also left the game with an upper-body injury.
It’s unclear when either player was injured but neither one returned with the team from the locker room to start the third period.

Before his injury, MacKinnon was having a huge night offensively, scoring once, assisting on three others, and firing 10 shots on net. In 16 games this season MacKinnon now has nine goals and 21 points.
If his injury is serious, MacKinnon would join his regular linemmates Gabriel Landeskog and Mikko Rantanen on the sidelines. Rantanen has been out since suffering a leg injury on Oct. 22 and remains week to week. Landeskog is also dealing with a “significant” lower-body injury and there is no timeline for him to return.
