Christina Aguilera is finally back on the road again.
The multiplatinum pop star, known for such hit singles as “Genie in a Bottle,” “Come On Over Baby (All I Want Is You),” “Dirrty,” “Fighter,” “Ain’t No Other Man” and “Hurt,” has embarked on her first concert tour in over a decade.
Yes, that’s right. As hard as it may be to believe, Aguilera’s previous road show commenced way back in 2006. That was the lengthy Back to Basics Tour, which included a stop at Oracle Arena in Oakland in March 2007.
Aguilera is returning to Oakland with her highly anticipated new trek, the Liberation Tour, and performs Oct. 22 at the Paramount Theatre.
That’s a very intimate setting for a multiplatinum talent who is accustomed to filling big arenas.
Aguilera returns to the road in support of her eighth studio album, “Liberation,” which debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 back in June.
Opening the show is hip-hop star Big Boi, who is best known for his work with Andre 3000 in Outkast.
Details: 8 p.m.; $69.50-$199.50, www.livenation.com.
