Report: Antonio Conte to leave Chelsea, Sarri to replace him
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte and his staff are set to leave the club, with former Napoli coach Maurizio Sarri replacing his countryman, according to Sky Italia (via Football Italia).
Conte departs Chelsea after two seasons, winning the Premier League in his first campaign. However, the club finished fifth last year and there were rampant rumours that the Italian was going to leave.
Italy international midfielder Jorginho, one of Sarri’s former players at Napoli, will also join Chelsea after spurning Manchester City.
Jorginho is going to sign with Chelsea, confirmed! And Sarri will be the new manager on next hours
Sarri, 59, guided Napoli to second place in Serie A in back-to-back seasons. They fought Juventus until the very end, ultimately losing out on the Scudetto by four points. He was eventually replaced by Carlo Ancelotti on May 23 after speculation that Sarri’s buyout clause would be activated by another club.
