Jared Leto leads Thirty Seconds to Mars back to SF Bay Area
OK, so let’s not bury the lede:
The frontman for Thirty Seconds to Mars is none other than Hollywood superstar Jared Leto.
He’s starred in such acclaimed films as “Dallas Buyers Club,” for which his performance as a transgender woman won him an Oscar for best supporting actor.
To even things out, however, he’s also appeared a few stinkers, most notably the horrible comic book adaptation “Suicide Squad.”
So, as you probably guess, when Leto isn’t busy working on some big-screen project, he does find time to rock with his longtime band Thirty Seconds to Mars, which also features brother Shannon Leto on drums.
The group has released five full-length studio albums to date, including the gold/platinum efforts “A Beautiful Lie” (2005) and “This Is War” (2009).
The group is on the road in support of its latest outing, this year’s “America,” and performs July 18 at Shoreline Amphitheatre at Mountain View.
The show also features three intriguing opening acts.
First off, there is Walk the Moon, the band behind the chart-topping alternative hits “One Foot” and “Shut Up and Dance.”
