TripAdvisor ranks this San Francisco burger among the best in U.S.

Today, TripAdvisor unveiled a list revealing the 10 best restaurants for burgers in the country, and there’s a San Francisco restaurant in the top 10. Pearl’s Deluxe Burgers, an affordable, no-frills spot in Lower Nob Hill, ranked No. 7 for its King Burger.

What’s in this burger, you ask, and how does TripAdvisor’s burger battle compare with our recent bracket-style Bay Area burger contest? Before you start having visions of peanut butter slathered burgers or millionaire’s bacon, know this: the $11 King Burger is surprisingly simple:

It’s a quarter-pound patty topped with American cheese, cheddar cheese and Thousand Island dressing. Wait, did we mention the half-pound hot dog on top? Yeah. Apparently burgers are better with wieners. The King received 816 reviews on TripAdvisor and 4.5 out of 5 bubbles on Tripadvisor.

Pearl’s was in good company. The winning burger joint was Chapel Hill, North Carolina’s Al’s Burger Shack, which came in first place for its Bobo Chili Cheeseburger topped with chili sauce, slaw, chopped onion, yellow mustard and American cheese.

To compile the rankings, TripAdvisor leveraged its reviews and opinions from travelers and local diners around the country.
